Community Supported Agriculture

As part of World Environment Day, I spoke about my love for my CSA Box. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. I love my CSA Box as it is truly seasonal, it's fresh and delicious, and most importantly the money I pay goes straight to the farmer direct and provides them with financial security for the year.
CSA requires an upfront payment of a membership and in turn you receive a box of vegetables each week. The vegetables are seasonal and you get what is right for picking that week (ie you cannot choose what you are getting). It is nature's lucky dip!!!

These gluten-free chocolate hazelnut pancakes are an indulgence suitable for any time of the day.
This delicious beef cheeks recipe cooks beautifully in a cast iron casserole pot, or you can use a slow cooker, or pressure cooker. Incredible flavour with minimum effort.
This my friends, is my RHUBARB CAKE. It’s a ripper. It’s quite spectacular, and bloody delicious. You’ll be unable to stop at one piece.
I love this zucchini slice because pretty much everyone loves it. You can make it at the beginning of the week and take slices into work/ school/ picnics for lunch. It is quick to whip up and tastes delicious!
Below is a recipe that I have adapted from Mum’s tried and true boiled fruit cake. The recipe is pretty easy, but I urge you to use good quality fruit.
This recipe works best slow cooked for around 3 hours, or in a pressure cooker for about an hour (with another 1⁄2 hour to reduce the sauce).
I love the idea of chocolate cake, moist, not too heavy, but still sumptuous and substantial – can hold it’s own, but also loves the addition of layers! This is THE cake that does all that!
